I always took you for a high schooler who was spoiled. Now I see I am right :chuckles:

I dunno, 'grats. Be sure to buy a nice father's day present though. As long as he doesn't flaunt it, I think it's ok. A lot of fobs up here have these cars and as long as it doesn't get to their head it's ok.

It's nice but why didn't you get a stick? Used right?

It seems like alot of you are bitter...I accepted an offer of if I got in to my first choice college, we'd trade the Accord in and I'd get a BMW...so I worked hard and got in. As for the non sports package...I got it used, and the 03's have the sports suspension anyways, so the only thing missing from the sports package are the rims/clear's all around. Seeing as how I like these rims more than the sports package and I can order the clears for about $180, it wasn't worth it...and seeing as how I got it used that wasn't an option.

Some of you are saying that you wouldn't accept a car in my position. Good for you. The overwhelming majority would. I'm not going to say that I'm not spoiled...clearly I am, I just got a 2003 BMW. My dad's in a position that he can easily afford this, a position that he didn't have as a kid nor did he have the opportunity to do when my brother was a child. When you come to a new country with $44 you don't think you will be able to buy your son a nearly brand new BMW at some point, but why not do it if you are in that position 40 years later? I'm not proud of the fact that my dad bought me a BMW, but I sure as hell wasn't going to say no.

Rick, you've been a dick to me since day one. I don't know if its bitterness that you worked for your car and that I was given mine or what, but I really don't see why my business has to be yours. If you don't like what I have to say...don't read my posts, no need to come in with a "high and mighty" attitude because you bought yourself your BMW's.

You guys don't know anything about me other than my dad bought me a car, no need to make assumptions. You have no idea how I was brought up, where I come from, or who I'm friends with...Half of my friends had their parents buy their cars for them, including a WRX and a 2002 Viper GTS...and half had to work for their cars and paid for them themselves. Does this make us any different? Those who paid for their cars don't feel any animosity towards us because we got our cars paid for, but you don't know me so I don't really care.

Anyways...I'm pretty much going to say goodbye to this board. It's a world of difference between this board and BMW boards...its just amazing.

To those of you who actually realize that just because my dad bought a car doesn't make me a douchebag...thank you for having an open mind and not just being bitter.

Also, I'm not going to wrap it around a tree(knock on wood). After 2 offers of racing EVER in the Accord...I've had 4 so far in the Bimmer and haven't accepted any. I think street racing is the dumbest thing ever to be risking others lives who are just on the road making a commute. I'm waiting until the track opens up if I get any challenges...and until then I'll be doing auto-x. Assuming most accidents are from speeding or street racing, I have a very low chance of getting in an accident that is my fault then. I rarely speed, almost never past 9-10 over, and I've learned my lesson from my two previous tickets.

I could be a millionaire and won't buy my kid a car, he/she is gonna work for it, I'll buy them a new car or give them a DP on a house once they graduate school(college/trade) or get married, but not for getting accepted to college.

It's great ur dad got u a car, I just hope you appreciate it as much as if you worked hard to pay for it yourself. good luck w/ the BM

In highschool, two speeding tickets under your belt, and you still get a BMW? When I was in HS, if I had gotten a ticket (wouldn't have mattered if it was for speed, an illegal turn, or an equipment violation), my car would have been taken away and I wouldn't be allowed to drive until I was 30....really must be nice

All the bmw forums i have seen are gay. Its just a bunch or pricks that love talking about how "fast" theyre stock cars are. i have a buddy with a t3 turboed 325 and he even dislikes most bmw forums. But from what it seems you already fit right in there.

oh yeah, what did you expect putting up a post like this. your just trying to brag and be an attention whore. might work at your high school but not on this forum. and honestly if i was in your situation, i would have taken the keys just as you did and milked your dumb ****ing parents for every penny they have. I am no better than you.
