I doubt Matt Drudge and his assistants have more money and contacts than CNN. What I don't doubt is that he speaks the truth.

That's what I thought. And with a war chest of over $200 million Bush is going to be very tough to beat. Even is this scandal does not hurt Kerry he is going to be hard pressed for money against Bush.

Actually, I was saying that because he had an affair. While I don't necessarily care what a president does, there's plenty of people out there who could be persuaded to vote for Kerry if he were the nominee but would change their minds if it turned out he did have some fidelity issues. One of the factors in my choosing a candidate in a primary is his electability. It's not the main thing I consider, but it does have to be taken into account. One reason I'm not such a Dean fan is because while I admire his overriding liberal tendencies, he's not centrist enough to make effective policy on a national level with a divided congress, let alone get elected in the first place.

Perhaps I was not unequivocal enough in my original post, but what I meant is that while I do have a preference among the Democrat candidates I find them all to be superior to Bush. I'm not blindly following the party line, although I will say it would take some pretty extraordinary stuff to get me to vote for a Republican.

I think there's one main reason for there not being a grey area when it comes to people's opinions of Bush: he has no grey area when it comes to issues. I don't think he has ever displayed a willingness to negotiate in order to satisfy people that disagree with his policies. Also, he's made a lot of policy that a lot of people have fundamental objections to on an almost moral level. So to people such as myself who are informed about politics and lean more to the left, he is the devil.
