I hate local boards
I just resigned from a local web board a few minutes ago because of some strange anomally that happens around here.
Jon (96JDMAccord) posted a thread asking about local shops and recommendations for the work on his car. The usual suspects were named and a few minor wildcards as well..nothing unusual at all everyone said their feedback about it and was being civil and adult about it.
Then comes the one post that was inevitable where a member of one of the larger groups on the board said something negative about a very major NW engine builder (he has a huge history setting records) because of one bad dealing and some small issues in the past. It turns into a 3 page bash festival suddenly and every shop mentioned in the thread ends up getting all the ugly little rumors about them mentioned and thrown around as well as personal insults as well.
Does this happen on your local boards too? I mean I like the board and the people on it usually and we all get along great in person but for some reason online everyone turns into assholes....wtf??? :thinking:

nah Slappy has been ripped up and down the board so many times its like a sport.
It seems to just general BS for the most part but it gets old and degrades to name calling and these are people who end up seeing each other around town so it goes from web drama to real time drama over something stupid.

it happens on my local board also,.luckily my name hasnt been bashed,..well one kid tried but he was set straight,..plus i proved his asumption wrong,..so he apologized for trying to bad mouth me and my business

the local board i goto all ppl do is flame each other. i dont post much on there anyways, but its more of a circus than anything else.
