I used to be a donor, but because I have Hep C I cannot donate blood or organs or tissue anymore.

Nope. Judaism says the body has to be buried whole. Not sure what other religions this particular belief is a part of but I'm sure it's not uncommon.
It is a tough decision for me. A lot of the various sects of the Jewish Religion support organ donation as it follows Pikuach Nefesh, or Saving a Life. However, I have the fear that a decision of "brain dead" will be made in haste, thus ending my life prematurely. I am currently not an organ donor because I was unsure at the time what I wanted to do. As long as I am considered absolutely "brain dead" and that I am still able to be burried as per the Jewish Religion, I will consider becoming a donor.
