Default PC problems

Alrite.. here's the situation... i got a new motherboard, CPU, and hard drive... everything works fine, but i have problems installing an OS on the hard drive... my friend put my hard drive into his PC and he successfully installed windows XP... it worked fine with his system...

then, i put it back into my system and it has problems loading the OS... the screen says "Error loading OS"... wat's up with that?? i've checked all the jumpers and connections and it still wouldn't load.. my guess is the motherboard is ****ed up... it's an ASUS and it's new.. shouldn't be a problem rite?? pls help.. thanx

with the exception of the Corperate versoin of XP, when it loads, it takes a 'snapshot' of your hardware profile. If it is dramatically different, it won't load, or it will ask you to re-activate it.

The problems your having is probably related to a bad IDE connection. Check all your cables, try a diff IDE plug/port and then try a new wire. Make sure its all functioning and setup correct.

Reformated, and reinstall the OS when its in YOUR box.
