Yeah... there was a hardtop S2k but it was losing... danged Holdens kick ass but then again its Bathurst in Australia which is like Holdens back yard.

Huh wow the margin of victory after 24 hrs of racing was 0.35 seconds, less than a car length. Speaks volumes for how hard these guys race.

A Mazda RX-7 won the race in 1992, 1993 and 1994. So then Mazda decided to make an RX-7 Type R Bathurst R.





I wonder if I like this more than the Spirit-R Type A. The Spirit-R Type A has red stitching on all the leather interior bits, red suede Recaros and BBS RGR wheels. But the Bathurst R has real CF interior panels, Mazdaspeed shift knob and ebrake handle, and Mazdaspeed coilovers. Oh, choices choices...too bad only 500 of each was ever made. Sigh.
