Do you all think 5zigens are cheap thouhg? I mean these came from Japan (not sure if that's a good or bad thing).

My left 2 wheels+tires are perfectly fine, so I have no choice but to order replacements...
I dunno, but you seem to be an avid auto-xer, and after seeing this I'm suprised you aren't shying away from 5zigen as a whole.

well, I hoped to eventually stop using these damn 18s on the track once I got a replacement set of tires, and a cheap set of 17x7.5s for track-only

so 5zigen=cheap brand?

damn!

Wow, that's crazy. Seeing that is kinda amazing to hear that you were able to pull over safely.

Sorry to hear about your situation, but I agree with the others that you should look into getting a whole new set of different wheels.

Just because its from Japan doesn't mean its good quality. Like RB said I would shy away from them. I would honestly look into getting another set of wheels (not 5zigen) instead of replacing the broken 2.

ok, I bet you even a 17" wheel would have been damaged beyond repair in this situation. I don't think you guys understand how hard of an impact it was, and what kind of wheels could actually survive this. I know cast wheels are never going to be as good as forged, but even forged would have been damaged beyond repair.

so, do you think I can still use this tire? It seems like there is a "flat spot" right where the crease in the wheel is, so I'm not sure if the belt is damaged or not. Both my local wheel shop, and Discount Tire said I could use it, but they saw me wheels in my trunk, so I don't think they could see it at that angle :dunno:
