I went to the 5 murder sites when I was in London. Maybe HE wanted to clean the streets free of hoes

 

In the movie 'From Hell' they make you think that he did it because the prince had gotten ghonnorhea from one of them, and it was retribution for it.

 

From hell was gay. It was based of a comic book so the story is way off but a good idea

 

no and no.

the story is not way off. if you read the facts of the case, it's very, very close. the way the prostitutes were murdered, the characters, the letters, what was observed, what was written, the dialogue... most of this stuff came directly from the original case files, papers, etc.

the only major things they "guessed" on was: who jack the ripper was, why he did it, and what happened to him after the murders. but even the so-called ripperologists can only guess on these.

ur31337, i think the movie insinuates that jack the ripper was being led by a higher power, at least in his demented mind.

I remember a few months ago or maybe it was last year, that an author put out $1-2 million of her own money to solve the Ripper case once and for all. Her findings were inconclusive as to who he was but his motives were revenge for what the women in his life did to him.
