I stay away from California for a very good reason: I don't want to start sweating within 30 seconds of exiting any air-conditioned building and/or vehicle.

I think you are under the impression that the entire state is like Needles or Edwards AFB. It mosty certainly isn't. There's a significant amount of the State that is positively Oregonian in climate. h:

So then there's no reason for me to go there. Ooh, yay, a temperate climate that I can get in plenty of other places, a too-high cost of living, crappy 91 octane gas, CARB laws, etc. Yup, sure does sound appealing.

I will admit that Wisconsin sucks a big fat one aside from the fact that I can stumble to about 10 bars within a couple blocks of my apartment.

Maryland sure is pleasant, although I'm noticing the people here are getting more and more stuck up.

h: Hey, whatever floats yer boat. And I agree with you for teh most part, in the bay area it's rediculous at times.

But with the governator in office, things are getting better insofar as CARB laws... the SEMA lobby and State Senator Johannessen knocked out the frivolous "modified exhaust loophole" last year with SB 1420, which precludes officers from ticketing aftermarket exhausts with reckless abandon.

Also in the works is a bill to ditch the visual inspection altogether, instead focusing solely on what comes out of the tailpipe..
Hopefully it'll make it. :crossedfingers:

h: But I digress...
