Jetta VR6 vs. Valet parking
i dont know how or when the dude did it.. but... fact is, axle shattered while on THEIR time.
I'm sure if you dump the clutch repeatedly at 7000 rpm, it'll break... probably was broken in the climbing process.

That's shitty man. Sounds like you should have not too much trouble at least having him held responsible, however where you would actually get the money from seems a little up in the air to me. Who would pay? The kid, his parents, the hotel? Either way he's probably getting fired.

hotel insurance would probably cover something like that, but yeah, that kid is probably going to get fired.

I have pics of the "fragmented" axle already. They're on a disposable, so i can't show here.
Blame is easy to pinpoint. The hotel doesn't operate the valet service, apparently they're independantly-contracted... Anyway... I'm friends with the technicians at the VW dealership (one guy is tuning a VR6 corrado, and i'm helping him supercharge it next week) ... so, I'll definitley get the parts back.
This is more of a warning... some 20-year old might like someone's modified honda, and take it for a spin. As my towtruck driver told me on the way to the dealership... some people learn to drive sticks on valet cars.

I wouldn't take it personal if I were you. Some people are just cautious about their cars, much like many people like us (into cars).
oh i know that, but it's still a part of it, when someone driving a minivan hesitates, you know they're thinking about what us "valets" are gonna go do with it. after driving bently's and all that, it's just like...i respect your car.. that's my job. people like that guy, are the ones who make people think like that
