Tips For Surviving Night Shift
(evilkittie)
I work 9pm - 7am and the night shift is an ass kicker.
You really have to keep yourself on a schedule, sleep the same times everyday for the same amount, and don't oversleep. I usually sleep from 8am or 9am to about 2 to 3pm
for the first week eat a candy bar every hour or so, but no coffee cause coffee just makes you tired when the caffine wears off.

I worked overnight at IBM. We slept. People would be camped out under their desks and when a phone would ring, a hand would come up over and pick up the phone and pull it back under the desk. Wednesday nights were "Half Life Nights" because we had a full shift of 8 people. We fragged until about 5 or 6 in the morning. That or we played Age of Empires or GTA. One time we were playing Half Life, and somehow a 9th player joined in. Now ... it was impossible for Internet users to get in, and the player was pinging 10's. He was somewhere in the world on our network.
edit: I remembered he kicked our asses too :happysad:
