Yea. Filltech made the OEM filters pre-switch. They are still available on some sites. I told the guys at the Parts Department at our closest Honda dealership that the filters are made by FRAM and they all looked at me like this ":eh:." Then they spouted off how they hoped not cause they hate FRAM .

i have been using made in canada (fram) honda filters for while w/out any problems. just so happened last time i bought some though i got ones made in USA which are filtech. i do agree they seem like a better unit than the canada ones. i don't think a regular fram is = canada made honda filter, the seal and the cansiter on the honda one are better.

anyways, if my damn motor fails from the filter breaking up don't think honda will stand behind it?? wouldn't fram do the same also??

Christ... I checked in the garage, and I had a FRAM Extra Guard Filter waiting in the wings....
:nervous:

So, I dismantled it (in the interest of science) and was absolutely disgusted at what I saw..... having read that report and a few others written by SAE members, I will never put another FRAM filter on my car.

Ever.

If the filter fails and your engine gets damaged, you can sue Fram.:rick:

Where I have the luxury of spending thousands of dollars on expert witnesses, lawyers, etc. And still have no assurance that my non-functioning engine will even be repaired, never mind my odds of winning against the multibillion- dollar AlliedSignal corporate lawyers. :squint:

I don't think so.

i think fram is good for thr price you pay and ppl who just use the cars as daily drivers but do not drive them hard like some old folks.
