I had a guy staying in a hotel, was having trouble getting to some websites. He talked with the hotel and they had no idea who their provider was.

He had to reverse DNS his public IP just to find out who he was using. Then called us.

How can you not know where your money IS or going?

 

he knows how to reverse dns but doesn't know his isp?!

 

lady called for quicken help today.

"says its unable to connect to network interface"

"yeah, well, you do need the internet, so uh, who yah payin for your internet?"

"think you might want to call them and see if they can get your internet working?"

"yeah, im not hotmail, but i bet eartlink could getcha back online...you could give us a call and ill help you with quicken when your internet works"

Allow me to clarify. He was a guest in a hotel. He had some trouble with his in-room internet connection.

He went to the mangement of the hotel for some tech support. (ie, are they blocking or filtering) THEY didn't know who the ISP was. Not the guest, the guest was who called me.
