I'm an English major. It's "easy" for me because I've got a pretty solid command of the English language. I can guarantee however, that tons of the people in science and engineering related majors wouldn't be able to write a decent paper unless you gave them a formula to follow, and then the paper would be bland, formulaic, and utterly lacking in creativity.

Funny how all the people in objective pursuits assume that abstract thinking courses are automatically easy.

booty, thats why I said "I think". English comes easy to me as well, but unlike you, I find it dreadfully boring. So, to me, it would be easy, but there is no way in hell I'd do it. All the others I listed fall into a similar catagory. Of course easy is a relative term, some are mechanically and electronically inclined, others are better with language. Thats just how the cookie crumbles :dunno:

Yeah "liberal arts" refers to the whole group of kind of abstract stuff like English, philosophy, etc.

engineers at a shitty school have it easier than a 'soft science' major at a REAL school.

French. And my girlfriend, who majored in French (and Political Science and Business Administration), said she didn't learn much more in college than we learned in high school. 1 year in a french-speaking country > 4 (or more) years learning french in a classroom. I spent 6 years in a classroom (middle and high school) and about 5 months in France (college). But some things obviously come easier to some people more than others. All that left brain - right brain stuff.

I took my humanities concentration in literature. I actually write well for an engineer. My strength is technical writing though. It's much easier than writing for a humanities class (you're writing about what you know and using simple language), but there are still a lot of engineers who can't even do technical writing.
