Default Workout Crew Help: #87

I threw out my back on the flat bench today. I think it was too heavy? I did five reps then it was like instant pain in my back. It was 20lbs over my body weight so it was a struggle, at least for me a beginner. :happysad:

Was my posture wrong? Should I use less weights in the future and just do more reps until I built up mass?

was this the first time youve had back problems, or is it recurring?

u should avoid putting pressure on your back whenever lifting..

I've had a stiff back after doing back/shoulder excercises before so I stopped. I'm not sure what it is called but I basically lifted the bar behind my shoulders? Squats?
