If you record it, all the load is on the computer that's doing the recording, and after that it's no more load intensive than a normal movie.
nah man... Here's what I think they did... it was scripted in flash (which would make some of the movements easier... especially the warping and sliding of objects) with objects defined in Illustrator. From there it was prerendered out into a Quicktime movie...
Thus, you get a techie looking flash movie without the lag of Flash...

With that many objects moving in flash you'd slaughter the computer that was viewing it.

Dude... that's Squarepusher, and the song is "My Red Hot Car"
"Port Rhombus" is one my fav tracks that he's done...
If you dig that song, you can also check out some of these groups:
The Postal Service
Aphex Twin
Portishead
And if you're adventerous, you can check out Venetian Snares (He's like the :eek3: of the IDM hardcore scene). Good songs are Epidermis and Breakbeat Malaria ("Chocolate wheelchair" and "Songs about my Cats" are good albums of his)

Hell... I even have Epidermis on my webspace:

The sampled voice is actually from a Jedi Mind Tricks track...

How many musicians do you know that have hidden faces and symbols in the waveforms of the music?
Hot Buttered Popcorn is an excellent track (A mix of "Popcorn" by the band Hot Butter nonetheless...) as is everything off his Windowlicker LP...
