Apple will love to tell you they were the first with a graphical user interface and that Microsoft stole it from them.... however, truth is that Apple stole it from Xerox. Xerox had the first GUI, ever.

They stole the whole concept of a mouse from Xerox I think too. PC processors work off the x86 instruction set built into the processor. I'm not sure what the Apple version is called, but they aren't the same and aren't compatible.

You can take an SE/30 logic board, a Classic power supply and case, and a color display from the Color Classic, lob them all in with a SuperDrive and build a color 68030 all-in-one Macintosh out of secondhand spare parts for less than Apple charged high schools for it's least expensive Performa.......back in 1996..

Apple did not invent FireWire but they did come up with the nifty name.

apple firewire = ieee1394
