I don't believe it shall ever become a holiday in which it is an excuse for kids and employee's to have a day off from school/work. It should be a day of rememberence.

 

It is a holiday. On September 11th, on CNN and other channels, 9-11 was made into a Holiday. The President declared it. It was in bold letters on the bottom of the headlines...9-11 Declared a National Holiday by the President. Dead serious...

Patriot Day (September 11) is an observance, not a holiday. It remembers the hijacking of four civilian aircraft on that day in 2001, resulting in the death of all on board, the destruction with huge loss of life of the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York and damage to the Pentagon outside Washington DC, with further loss of life.

It is intended to honor all those individuals who lost their lives as a rusult of these terrorist attacks.
