Few questions:

When Smith takes over the oracle, he calls her mother, why? I'm thinking because she is the "mother" of the matrix. But at the end of Reloaded when the Architect says, "If I am the father of the Matrix, then she is is the mother." And when Neo says the oracle, the architect says, NO. Was the architect lieing, the oracle is not the mother of the matrix? If not, why does Smith say "you always did mom."

The oracle asks the last exile did you make that for neo (referring to the sunrise), and the little girl says, "Yes, for neo." I could see her being the oracle but seems like she's be more of the creator of the matrix (the one). Also her parents were powerful programs (power management and creative program? I dunno).

Also, in the first movie there was Tank and Dozer. Dozer died, Tank lived, what happened to Tank?

Also there were previous Neo's. Could the french man be an earlier Neo? His wife said he used to be like you, looking at Neo.... Hmmmm......

I think they left movie open for more sequels, but I'm to be good or even profitable, they'd need to have a great story line.

I wouldn't mind seeing a prequel, I know the Animatrix goes a little into the past, but a detailed movie would be butta.

Great trilogy. I thought all the movies were great, and the imagery was awesome in all three.

I thought that the images of Neo on the TV screens were supposed to be possibilities of Neo's reactions. Because Neo was able to choose his own reaction, it was difficult to guess what it would be. And that's why there were so many different responses to reflect all the different possibilities. Of course, the exceptions are when his answers would be obvious and all shown responses were the same.

The other reason I doubt that they portray earlier versions of The One is that there were supposed to be 5 (correct me if I'm wrong) previous versions of the Matrix. If that were the case, there should only be 5 TV screens. There are way too many TV screens to show how those previous 5 actually responded to the same questions.

That's really weird. I guess I've got to watch it again. If you watched it again, let us know more details.

That's exactly right.

Here you guys go that hate the Matrix:
great find and explination. Not as deep as some people would have liked to believe I guess.

I still have a hard time putting the biblical refrences there. Yea, I bet if you try hard enough, it all reaches back to some bible story. But the creators (wachowski?) never made any mention that it had anything to do with religion. I think it's just another attempt to dig deep.

Perosnally, I'd be really pissed off and let down if it's just supposed to be some updated story of the bible.

Also, in the first movie there was Tank and Dozer. Dozer died, Tank lived, what happened to Tank?I think they just simply didn't bring him back. I heard that it was because he was causing trouble/stealing from the set. I don't know for sure, I wasn't there.

It's a great bit of story of what happened BEFORE the matrix and how it came to be. It also shows how that stupid over played "Kid" got himself out. He simply became aware. www.animatrix.com and you can watch 4 of the short clips

he doesn't exactly say "NO"...he says "Please" in a sarcastic tone. We can only assume that she is in fact the mother.

yeah, she does have a purpose...and again like her parents she was a programer. I'm sure she created the sunrise as more of a symbol to end the movie than to prove that little girl was the oracle.

I just did a little bit of research on this because it bothered me too. Well, it ends up that the guy who played Tank's character, Marcus Chong, had a contract dispute with the film makers, and it ended up that he was written out of the second and third one. I guess we can assume that, in the period of time between Matrix and Matrix reloaded, he somehow got killed.

hmmm...I highly doubt it, only because of his evil nature, but the brothers are very crafty with these movies so I guess a lot is left to the imagination.

I am also open to prequels/sequels, but honestly I think the entire storeline is now set in stone and messing with it would only ruin the prestige and message that the brothers are trying to convey.

I believe that this movie is open to a lot of interpretation, and they WANTED people like us to create 3-4 page threads discussing what we think the movie was about. Honestly for those who say it sucked I think they are just overwhelmed with the fact that they weren't able to clearly understand all aspects of a movie. The brothers weren't force feeding the story to you like most other movies, and I think that frustrates a lot of people when they don't know why something happened or why things didn't go the way they expected.

This movie is a lot deeper than what meets the eye. Its number of interpretations are a clear sign of that. I think probably in a few years people will start to understand the full power of how the movies were displayed. And for those who said the 3rd movie was a cop out is complete bullshit. It answered some questions, but left a few more, which I'm fairly sure is what was supposed to happen. If you don't have questions, you lose interest very quick.
