But I read that back in the 80's, a m10b20 engine with turbo that BMW motorsport developed for their f1 cars had 1200 hp+ and this was with like 50 psi of boost I think. They didn't really know the exact power of the engine because the dyno chart stopped at 1200 hp.

That m10 engine is pretty similar to the m10b18 in the e30 318i in 84-85. Everyone complains about how crappy that engine in the car is but little did they know you if you built it right and boost the hell out of it, you can make tons of power.

Yeah I remember that

Same block!
of course not the same bottom end. but shit if you can boost that thing to 20psi you'd be flyin!

Fo' reals. I should consider that....maybe later when I have tons of money.

Did you hear the one about the 24 valve dohc head for the m20? That one was a trip even though it was an old article and the head was never developed in the aftermarket.

well pumps heater and radiator went out, then a few other little things started breaking. fixing BMW's is expensive thats why im scared. plus getting an E36 M3 for around $22-24k means it will have a lot of miles in 50-60K range = things start breaking soon.

as for insurance i pay $600 for half year for my 96 teg ls, my agent looked up a 01 S2k and its $750 half year not too bad.
