Get some of that white lithium grease and slap some on the cable as much as you can get to.... just to make sure it's not a stuck cable or something like that.
or maybe if u have been audio work lately it fried ur line...mine did that but it'll be too costly and difficult for me to change the line so i decided to live with the brake light always being on
next time it happens, try checking your brake light harness. depending on the car, the light is also an indicator that your brake light is either burned or unplugged.
check the contacts and connections..i did that to my girl's old car and it fixed it right up...
