i feel safer driving the e36

 

I dunno bout the US, but Canadian sport package sedans in the 325i and 330i have (I could be wrong):

-stiffer shocks
-car a bit lower
-diff sways
-diff rims
-diff seats (sportier)
-3-spoke steering wheel
-aluminum trim is included

 

okay...definitely my friend doesnt have the sport package then

 

same in the us but if get sports premium you still get wood trim :doh: which is why i swapped them out

I love the sports seats so much more comfortable. in the 330i we have the sports seats with the lumbar adjustment

well no package would be standard i suppose

so, standard, sports only, premium only, both sports and premium.

then they usually have some special packages near the end of the life cycle like the E39 which offered the M Sports package

They did the same with E36. M Aero package which put most of the aero bits from the E36 M3 to the standard cars (minus the side view mirrors)
