I've never driven one so take my opinion for what it is....
I don't like the way it looks. It's got fat, strange proportions that make it looks bloated and cheap to me.
All the magazines and net articles seem to say that the car puts out much less power to the wheels than one should expect even after Nissan dropped it's HP rating. (Yeah yeah, magazine racer, whatever...)
That said, most people who do drive them seem to love them. Drive it and if you fall in love with it, get it. That's what matters.

Thanks a lot guys.
The guy is asking 10.5 for it with around 70k miles mostly highway though. I figured I could talk him down to 9.5 or so hopefully. If I could find someone to grab up my car or whatever and only pay out 3-4 more thousand for a 2002 car from a Dx would kick ass, but I have around 5k saved up plus the car, and I graduate from college in like... a year and a half or so. I really want the Evo8 especially the one Dakar M posted up...
I figured the Sentra would probably have a better trade in/sale value than the DX, for when I am able to get the evo.
I appreciate all the info.

A buddy of mine has a 2000? Sentra SE with the SR20DE. It's an alright car but eh, doesn't really do it for me. It's tall, has too short of a wheelbase, and the shifter is trash. I don't think a "tuned" car based on that platform would really be that much of an improvement. The Spec V might have an improved shifter, hooked up suspension, etc but it's still a Sentra which is a less-than-stellar starting point.
However for $9.5k that ain't a bad deal at all. I wouldn't buy one new though.
