id just pay a lil more for a 800mhz fsb and less ram..
i doubt ud see any difference between 1 gig and 2 gig if u arent doing anything extreme...

and yeh....i wouldnt buy another ECS board...
i have a brand new board sitting here not wanting to power up...
<ive exchanged it 3 times already and its too late to get a refund..:mad>

axemansean $135 is right around my range. i need to keep it below $150 because i also have to get DDR chips.
Go to www.newegg.com and do a search for Asus A7V8X-X. I have that board and I love it. I have the A7S333 at home and thats a great board too.

Newegg also has the Athlon XP2400+ processor for either $77 OEM or $82 retail, retail gets you a free heatsink and fan and their heatsink and fan combo are pretty good.

I have dealt with newegg a lot and would say you'd be better of getting it from there.

Your total would be $142 shipped for OEM or $147 shipped for retail. Pay the extra $5 and get the heatsink and fan.

P4 2.4G or better with a mobo that supports hyperthreading. believe the hype.. hyperthreading IS all it's cracked up to be.
