i have officially switched
Some things I miss from IE:
In IE I can just slap the ESC key and it stops all animated GIF's on the webpage. For someone with ADD, this is a big thing. So far I see no way to stop animated GIFs other than disabling them completely.
Page rendering... this is going to take a while. Most things are designed for the way IE works. I'm typing this up in the whore box at the bottom of the page and it's like 2 inches wide... where on my IE, it's more like 4 inches wide.
Cookies... I need cookie control.
This cursor... I'm not an accurate typer... I need to see what I'm putting on the screen.
My intellimouse scroll wheel. I use it all the time. It works for the up and down scroll, but when in IE I can "click" with the scroll wheel and it puts it in auto scroll mode. Other than the keyboard it's the quickest way to get to the top or bottom of a webpage.
Those are the big ones right now.

haven't tried Firebird.. but I've been using Opera for a few weeks.. the only complaints I have with that, so far.. is that, I haven't been able to open links to AIM chat rooms. On HAN, the preview when you pass the curser over the thread is gone. :wtc: and my :uhhok: guy moves at Mach10. lol (that's not really a complaint though)
the thing i hate about IE is that microsoft basically said "screw you" to a lot of web standards, and instead just decided to recognize their own versions. as a web designer that pisses me off. their CSS support is incomplete.
besides that, its pretty smooth, and yeah, most webpages are designed for it (unfortunately). i think that designing web pages really should not be browser specific. if microsoft and everyone else just stuck with standards, you wouldn't have to worry about making your pages work in multiple browsers. getting complicated javascripts to work in all browsers is a PAIN IN THE ASS. its even different with the same browser accross different platforms...
opera is a really nice browser. i LOVE the mouse gestures and tabbed browsing. opera is also the fastest at formatting pages. i haven't tried firebird. mozilla has a lot of the same features as opera, but its big and slow as hell. thats my only complaint about it.
