Looks good, even if it is fake CF. Adds a nice touch.

Well, if the intention was to fool people into thinking they were real carbon fiber then I could see where you are coming from. I'm not putting vinyl on my hood thinking that it will trick people into believing that I've got a real carbon fiber hood or anything. I would have just used black vinyl, but the cf was available so I figured what the hell... It saves me from annoying drips on the sideskirts after I wash my car and it adds a little touch of something that other cars aren't going to have. Nobody has been fooled into thinking its real carbon fiber, but I do get props for the creativeness. If nothing else then it looks (to me) better than just normal stock.

I see your point, but it seems as if you only thought you could use some kind of vinyl... why not just paint them? :dunno:

I think the install of the stickers are clean.

But in my opinion the whole idea of it is lame. Carbon fiber was for the intention to reduce weight in a vehice. Now a days its used mostly for fashion, used for cars that like to pose. Real CF skirts would of gotten frowned upon from me but fake sticker... damn yo. But no hard feelings. Just an opinion over the internet.

That's cool. I mean, we can all have our opinions. You are right on with why I did it. It wasn't because I couldn't afford to hunt down carbon fiber skirts. I was bored and wanted a project and I chose carbon fiber because of the 'fashion'. I'm sure I get more probs for doing it out of cf vinyl than just black or white. I thought about getting them painted painted, but I didn't want it to be something I couldn't reverse if I decided to change it. I thought covering them would be a cool and subtle mod that would win me some points at show and would be something I could easily change or replace. For the 3 shows I've been in since I did it I can't say that it hurt my score at all. I even had one judge mention the mod while giving out the awards.

At any rate, I agree that it may not be everybody's thing. There are probably things on your cars that aren't my thing. Each to his own, right?

I'm pretty impressed that you take opinions so well. Props for that man. :goodjob:

If you like it, that's all that matters.

This is an album of the process. Other pictures of my car are in the link in my sig. You can't really tell the sideskirts even have anything different done to them from a distance. I don't think any of the pictures in the other album are from when I did the skirts. Anyway, hope that is what you were looking for.
