go for if you wanna get rear-ended! The idea is ok, but they're just not designed well enough to work properly. Think along the lines of putting a HID "kit" in your OEM halogen headlights... you get pretty much the same thing with LED "bulbs" in tail lights made for incandecent bulbs... terrible "output".
You can have one custom made.. Different LED's give out different brightnesses. *MOST* LED's they sell (like on ebay) are junk... However, there are people who can make good ones for you... just gonna cost more $$...
www.customlightz.com might be willing to work on getting you custom LED brake lights... send a message to them... great company.

Yeah those are for looks only.
There are many folks out there that do LED taillights. It's much brighter than those from ebay. But if you want a setup, it will be a little costly, since you need to custom make a circuit board, solder, drill, bla bla bla.
We used to offer this service, but not anymore. But if you are seriously considering LED taillights, then read up and contact someone on HIDplanet.com
For more info: www.hidplanet.com /// they even have a seperate section for LEDs.
We have done LED tailights, but no pictures are available on the webpage since we aren't offering the service anymore. But to get an idea of how bright they are...look at the ones we use for our headlights.

These pictures are taken from our webpage. Notice how despite bright HID projectors, the LEDs can still be seen from far away. Now imagine, 30-60 LEDs bundled together.
