Default High Heat Paint (Engine Paint)

I want to paint the heat sheild on my F22B1 and I was wondering if anyone knows of any good web sites or places to get high heat paint? I was also told when painting under the hood that it is not good to do more than one coat of paint. I don't know if that's true tho. I am wondering does anyone have any advice on painting under the hood?

Well you can get high temp paint at most auto parts stores. The highest temp stuff only comes in flat colors, but the medium temp stuff comes in gloss finishes.

I tried to do this, and my recomendation would be use the highest temp stuff, and only do one or two thin coats.

Because if you get it too thick it might not completely cure and start to melt. I bagged mine because this happened. I used the medium temp gloss black with a few coats. Got a new one and polished it instead.

When i did my heatshield i went to PepBoys (or any local parts store) and picked up the high temp paint. Sprayed Many thin layers and then reinstalled. No problems and it has been a couple years
