Default Cracked wheel?

When I bought my Del Sol it came with some very nice 18" Exel wheels ($900 new). The guy also gave me some 14" wheels that still look pretty good. To help pay for some of the car, and because I think they'll get stolen, I took off the 18" wheels and I'm going to put them on eBay. However, when taking them off, I notcied one has a crack running the entire circumference of the inside of the wheel. Is that a big deal? Is it something I need to mention in my auction? Other than that the wheels look awesome and probably have less than 1,000 miles on them (so I was told). What do you guys think?

Definitely definitely defintely will have to mention that in the auction. Make sure its a crack though and not just a defect in the curing of the metal. If you sell those on ebay without taking pics of the blemish/crack and someone sees that after the buy them.
You can be sure they will be making a paypal and ebay claim. Be honest, its what counts on ebay.

I will definitely mention it. I was really going to mention it anyways, but I guess what I'm really wondering is will this make them not worth as much? If so, how much less? I've got plenty of other pics so people will know exactly what they're getting, and I'll point out all the little scrapes.

How would I know if it's a defect in the curing? I would assume it is, as this would not be a "normal" crack pattern I would imagine happening. Any advice on what I should say in the auction?

Is there any chance Exel would swap this wheel out for a new one?

It is very possible that they would swap as it looks like more of a defect in manufacturing. Sortof like a lemon you know, I have never seen a rim like that, I have seen cracked/gouged rims, but nothing that looks like that. I would call them up and see whats going on.

whoa!!! that is bad n ugly, well you know for that big of a crack it's gonna cost probably 3/4 of that one rim (the least i know), and for the price, i guess you can't really say, it's hard to sell it at a decent price on ebay because there's so much compitetion, so just put down a reasonable price on it and hope someone buys it!!! goodluck buddy!!!

Dang, I didn't know this was such a big deal. The car had obviously been driven on these wheels for a while without a problem. I wrote Exel an e-mail and will post back when I get a response.

it might not be a crack. If you look where it is the guy might have scraped it with his caliper. But if it got weird angles and doesn't appear to be a scratch then i dunno what to tell you about getting that fixed. I've never had that problem.

to my almost trained eye i would say its a maufacturing defect especially if it goes all the way around the rim like gasper said just call um and see what happens

I just called Exel yesterday. In order to have the wheel replaced I would have to have the original buyer fill out all the paperwork and start up the process. The original buyer was the guy I bought the car from, but I don't really want to bother him about all this. I'd still have to pay for shipping which is like $40 for something that big and heavy. It just seems like too much of a hassle to me. I'm just going to put them on eBay, fully explain everything about them, and hope I still get a decent price for them. They were driven on for 6 months without a problem, so I don't think they're too bad. I would use them if I didn't want to money for them.
