Avoid Discount Tire Center / wheeloptions.com in El Monte
I bought a set of Volks CE28n's from wheeloptions.com about a year and a half ago and either due to volk's design or wheeloptions' installation two of my tires started leaking where the valve stem seats on the rim. I brought my car in today to get them fixed. First thing they did was break one of my undercar neon tubes. Both the tech and the manager were quick to blame me for not telling them ahead of time...but shouldn't all competent techs know that all honda/acura's have 6 designated jacking points? Two on each side and one each in the front and back. My tubes are all a few inches from the jacking points. It seems like common sense that things will start breaking if you jack up the car just anywhere. Next thing they did was scratch up one of my wheels trying to remove the old valve stem. I can't imagine what things must look like on the nonvisible part of the wheels. For $50 I would've expected better from professionals. I could've done better had I the tools to remove the tires from the wheel.
Sorry mang, but Vick and his shop is one of the best out there. I've gone to them many times without a problem. Sorry to hear about your situation, but you did realize that their car lifts do not use standard jack points (just about every Discount Tire out there uses an undercarriage lift).
If you car was jacked up using just one corner at a time then yes, it should've been common sense for them to see that there were neon tubes under your car. But if they drove you car to a lift and raised the entire car (all four wheels off the ground) then they're not gonna see that. You should've told them prior to work being done to the car that you had neons under there.
As for them scratching your wheel, then yes I'm shocked. The times that I've been there, the tech was extremely careful not to scratch my wheels during tire mounting/dismounting and handling of valve stems.
Again sorry to hear about your situation. I'm not here to knock on you or tyring to take wheeloptions side. But if there is one thing I learned is that I never let anybody drive my car when I need things serviced. If I have issues with my wheels, I take them off my car and then let them handle it. If they only have to deal with the wheels, then they only touch the wheels. It's easier for them, and it's peace of mind for me.

When they scratched my blades mounting the first set of Yoko AVSi's in Texas, they fixed the problem for free, and loaned me a set of steel wheels and tires while it was being done. They have always done me right, in Texas and in Cali
They used a floor jack. I just got back from Iraq a couple of months ago. I've gone for so long without driving or working on my car that I've forgotten some of the things I've done to it. About the neons, I will not be replacing them. The techs had a lot of trouble removing my old valve stems. The techs had a lot of trouble removing my old valve stems. I was there waiting for a tech for an hour and it took another hour and a half to replace the stems. On the second valve stem, one of the techs just decided to cut it off. I didn't notice the scratches until after I had left. I will be taking your advice randomtask77. From now on if I have a problem with my wheels or whatever other part, the mechanic will see only my wheels or whatever other part.
