Default Question about sideskirts?

I am planning on painting my sideskirts on my VSM 99 Civic. I was wondering what I need to do before I paint them? I am planning on getting the paint from www.paintscratch.com and I was wonderinghow many 12.5 oz cans do I need to paint both sideskirts? Do I need to buy the primer and clear coat from there or can I just get it from an autoparts store?

You don't need to primer them unless you're doing work on them. You'll probably only need about 2-3 Spray Cans (if that's how you want to do it). You can buy clear coat in a spray can from an Auto Paint Store...I think SEMs or 3M makes it. All you need to do is sand them with either 320 grit sand paper, or a Red Scotch Brite Scuff Pad (by 3M).

Here's a pretty recent thread on painting your sides.

Because you can't get as good of quality by painting it with spray cans.

Exactly...

Take it to Maaco. They'll paint them pretty cheap. h:

When you're only painting the rocker panels, they do a decent job.

I've had my front and rear bumper, as well as my trunk lid and wing painted by Maaco. They did a good job.
