taking care of black cars?
i went and looked at a black integra last night. i really liked it, and if i can get the money soon enough, i'll buy it. the only problem is, is that i hear so many things about how to keep a black car looking clean. i hear its really hard. some one once told me that unless u know how to take care of a black car, then dont get one. here are my questions:
1.) what products do u suggest, or do i absolutely need?
2.) how much harder is it to maintain then.....red?
3.) is there a special way i'll need to clean it?

Here is what I use on my Wife's BLACK 01 Dodge Durango.
I don't like using chamois or the absorber as I found they are more likely to scratch. The ultimate drying towel has not scratched the truck yet.
Here is a great article on washing and drying.
Read it, learn then go buy the black one!!
Here are some picts of my Wife's black Grand Prix GT.
It had some swirls in the paint. I removed them with my PC and 1Z Polishes.
IF you do buy the black Integra I suggest getting the PC. It will make the paint look like a mirror!!

Torture. Thats what maintaining black is to me. It doesn't matter how much you baby it when washing/waxing....you will end up with fine scratches and swirl marks that while normally hard or impossible to see on other colors, will be painfully obvious on black except in a very few light situations.
If you don't want to HAVE to constantly clean your car, and obvious scratches/swirls bum you out, don't even think about black. IMO black requires 10 times more work to keep it looking it's best than lighter colors, and will always look much worse even then !
