Default Flat Black?

i really like the looks of black cars....but i was wondering...if i get a flat black paint job, how would i take care of the paint...like washing/waxing/buffing?....would it be any different?....it's also crossed my mind to just get a primer black coat...but i want something a little thicker so it'll last longer...i don't want shiny black...i want black...but not like glossy or anything...could someone help me out or give me some suggestions?....and could you include some paint care details for you suggestion?...thanks alot

I've wondered this too. I wonder what it would look like if you cleared over flat black. hmm...

No gloss + all gloss = semi-gloss? :chuckles:

naw, but flat black does look pretty good. i saw an S2000 in a mag and it looked so much tougher than any other color I've seen.

Funny that this topic was brought up as the new issue of SCC shows them doing a [blue] Suby WRX STi and they self painted it flat black.

Flat black can not be waxed. I mean if it's a primer type feel you'll just be fing up everything. also if you clear black your just gonna make it like a regular paint job. Remember when a car is painted the actual paint that goes on gets sanded down making it a flat look and then cleared for shine.
