alrite, another update. i read that prep work was extremely poor in quality at these cheapo places. im gonna sand my car down and primer and then sand again.

what i heard to do after paint job, is to wet sand with very fine san paper to get off the "orange peel" cuz i also noticed the car was very dusty after they painted it. so after u wetsand the whole car, u just polish with rubbing compound and put NO wax on it and let it cure for 90 days b4 the next wash&wax.

As for getting off Orange Peel....take 2000 grit sand paper and wet sand...but don't over sand...if you sand too much, you'll go all the way through the clear and it'll leave an indention. Then take a buffer and go through the buffing process. You can wash it the day after you paint it...just don't wax it.

If you look at your car closely...and you see what looks like little dimples or tiny waves in the paint...THAT'S orange peel. All cars come from the factory with Orange Peel (for the most part anyways). A lot of car enthusiasts HATE orange peel and buff their car to get rid of it.

The car is looking good man! Take some shots of it primed up. Don't wait to long after priming the car either. That will just mess everything up. But so far so good. That spot on top of the wind shield might look ****ed up after priming it. Please don't let it go over looked that will show after the paint job.

i only primed up the trunk and hood becuz it had bare metal showing (and i didnt sand down enuf, so they charged me an extra 40 bucks... )

i already sent the car in for painting, hopefully will get back on weds-thursday (since they are also fixing my hood). i also saw a 4th gen accord coupe ex painted black today...it looked very good except if you go up to it, u can see bits of contamination in the paint...it was black, good thing mine is white, so u cannot see it as well. yay.

well if you're going to get rid of the Orange Peel...then don't worry about little bits of dirt in the paint. B/c to get out the Orange Peel...you have to buff...which will take out the dirt specs. And no, neither rubbing compound or Clay Bar will take out Orange Peel. You'll have to buff/polish.

okay, ive never buffed with a machine b4, so what buffing compoiund and orbitor pad thingie should i get? just terry cloth ones?
so heres the steps:
1. sand wit 2k grit
2. buff wit muffing machine
3. polish...
