Bad fitment with ABS plastic Type R front lip 97
Besides getting a used one, the only Type R front lips that I've seen everywhere are the ABS plastic ones. So I picked a place (www.islandmotorsports.com) and bought one for my 97 sedan. I bring it home... and the *$&#% thing has horrible fit. The sides are at too wide of an angle. I can bent it a little, but it wants to pull outward... and I know that eventually it's going to deform the bumper.
Is there a way to get it to mount better?
The one I got is made in Taiwan, and has the front part which curves over the bottom part of the front bumper opening. It came with just 4 self drilling screws.

You'll either have to deal with it, or go for a urethane lip. I have the same lip, although probably different manufacturer because mine fits pretty well. Once you screw it in it'll probably be all right anyway.
I thought the same way with the jdmshit.com "type-r" ABS lip. It's not that it was a horrible fit, but an extremely tight fit. Plus the lip on the bumper looks bowed in the center. :happysad:
alls I can say is get some fiber glass filler and fit it on as best as possible if you dont want to go threw the haggle of returning it..but thats if you are experienced with body work..if not..sell it to some chump

I had a few of these "Type R" lips. They fit 95% perfect, you need to use propper mounting methods- One of the best was rivet's.
