Default Mugen Type Front Lip and Cracking

Hey all. Haven't posted much here lately, but I had a question for you guys who have the Mugen Type front lip. I have one, and last night some guy in front of me hit a possum and somehow it managed to come off his rear tire and hit my front lip, causing it to crack. The crack didn't go all the way through the lip but its bad. I don't have pictures now, but what I was wondering is: can I bring this to a paint and body shop and have them somehow repair this? I'm not 100% sure what the lip is made of, but I really like it, and don't want to go back to stock just yet. Anyways, is there anyway they can fix this, repaint the area, and re-install it? Have any of you guys had any luck fixing a lip, and stuff? Thanks a lot.

Stop by one of your local repair shops and ask them what the lip is made of, and ask them if it is a material that can be repaired.

It may end up being a DIY project.

i have a feeling you're going to have to do this yourself. you'll need a metal bracket to hold the lip together, bondo over the crack, sand, prime, and paint.

where is the crack at? right in the front? running across the bottom? it might be easier to get a new one and spray it yourself :\

This true.
I did the same thing to my Type R grill and you cant even notice.
Doesnt matter what material, as long as you uses Bondo, that thing will bond to anything.

If you use Bondo the right way, you shouldn't have any problems with breakage.

believe me, i kno how to work with bondo, yes i put down many many thin layers of bondo to fix his lip, and when he bottomed out it still broke.....then i fiberglassed it...and he says it didnt break when the same thing happened....

its just in my opinion that fiberglass is much better...but a bit harder and messier to work with
