Default Rear Bumper Problem

The back bumper was like this when i bought it i just must not have noticed it. I was wondering if anyone know what i could do to make it flush, as you can probably see there's a fairly big gap between the bumper and the car. I don't know if i should take it off and try to reattach it or what. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance here's a picture to show what i'm talking about.

I don't really see a problem. :dunno:

The gap looks fine around the fenders, but it's a little large beween the bumper and the trunk lid. You could bring the trunk lid down a bit, but then your taillights wouldn't be aligned right.

Maybe that pic is just bad, but I really don't see the problem you're addressing.

The rear bumper seems to be sagging, I would loosen the screws that are exposed after you open the trunk, push the bumper in, and tighten. That should fix it

thanks yeah i don't have a picture of the sides but on the sides it's even worse i can fit like a whole finger in there. But i'll try the screws tommorow. I'll let you know how it works out in case you have any other ideas.

The screws should do the trick. Other than that, I think the other possible cause is if that rear bumper had been removed, the person might not have put the foam piece back behind it. That foam helps support it as well.

sometimes the clips brak or tend to get loose. buy new clips, remove the bumper, put it back on w/the new clips and screw it on good. It should have a lil gap, that is how the 96-00 Civic was made.

well i did the screws and it pulled up the back, but not the sides. I guess i'll try getting new clips on the side. Does anyone know how much these cost and if this will work. I assume i can buy them at a honda dealership. thanks

the clips are like $1-3 a piece, unless you have a hookup and get them real cheap. If you go to a body shop, they can most likely get the clips cheaper. good luck!!!
