I think that'd just make it worse, it's plastic. I'm still decidingi what to do about the intake .

You don't want to clean it how I did :nervous:. I used a product called UV2 Protectant to clean up the valve cover .

Nice mang, me and incublinkus have our work cut out for us as well soon. The d16y8 is out of the engine bay so cleaning will be a little easier, but theres oil all over the firewall when #1 rod went through the block so...

What do you guys recommend for cleaning all that oild off the paint. Also, what is the best and most efficient way of cleaning the engine bay w/o engine?

We'd really rather not have to sit there with a toothbrush scrubbing between all the fuel lines and wiring and such...h:

Thanks.

Go to a muffler shop and have them mandel bend one for you then paint it. Then you dont have to worry about the Purple Playschool my first cold air intake. I want to get a set of NGK wires for my car. I might paint my bars, yours came out good.

I'd reccomend covering all electrical parts first off. Then I'd hose down the firewall simple green it to death, use a sponge if you can get your hands in there, let it sit for about five minutes and rinse, should look good .

Yes, he did. In fact I have a picture with Barney if you'd like to see.

I don't think I'm so worried about the intake right now as it's acting as a functional piece. When money allows I'll replace it with a J's Racing intake (i'm not sure they fit on the gsr manifold anyways). I was thinking about wrapping it in thermal tape...but I don't know if that would impeded it's performance at all.
