But no matter which one you choose it will be your own, hence unique, and very dear to you. So does it matter what we think... little.
That is the exact problem I am wrestling with. Both of the cars are sport cars but they are different in the sense that one is a hard top and the other is a convertible. I am opting for the 350Z because the reality of making it into a sports car is truely there because of the hard top. I recently talked the sales rep at BMW and he said the same thing about the M3 coupe and convertible. He said the M3 cab while it is a great car, the only place you can really use the car safely at it's limits are at a race track. 350Z for me?

I have a video of a NA s2000 vs a SC s2000. I don't have a place to host. I can email it.

I would go with the s2k. For the reasons of there will be tons of 350z's on the road i am ready see way more z's than s2k's due to the fact nisan already produced more z's in one year than honda made s2000's in 4 years. The z also looks to close to an audi tt and the infinity g35 nothing looks like a s2000. Just my 2 cents get the car you like more.

Something no one has mentioned. The Z does not handle anywhere near as well in day to day driving as the S2K. Super Charge it, throw a strut tower brace and a set of good springs on it, and you will have a much more enjoyable driving experience then a Z.

No offence, but have you ever actually driven an s2000? If so was it an ap1? I don’t know about the ap2's I have never driven one, but if it was an ap1 it either had bald tires or cheap ones. I have B/F Goodrich g-force KD's and I can tell you this I have NO problem with wheel spin. As a matter of fact I can redline it do a clutch drop and the damn thing will almost clunk out.

My .02 every s2k I have ever seen with a comptech or vortech supercharger (that was running on the stock boost for that charger) has had almost no problems out of it. Turboing the s2k is a completely different story; I don’t think I have ever seen a turbo s2k run right for very long. This is my opinion on the matter not fact, but those particular superchargers don’t really start boosting until about 6000rpms, so it stays with the characteristics of the engine therefore putting less strain on the internals. Unlike turbos that can spool as quick as 3500 the 2.0 at least doesn’t even think about making power that low, so when you hit full boost that low it puts a major strain on the internals which causes extreme premature failure.

Bottom line: The supercharged 2000 is a VERY quick car easily dipping down into the high 12's, but if you take a car that stock for stock is quicker (like the 350z) and do the same mods then that car will still always be quicker. I like the finish of the s2k, I have worked on both and the 350z (other than the engine itself) while nice looking, is a piece of junk. If I were going the Nissan route I would have to go G35, the body and interior are much better made.

SC'd S2K! sorry biased opinion, I love my comptech! 350 to me is kind a pig idk its not for me but it could tickle your fancy. go drive em both and then decide

good numbers are possible with both cars. Altho only one can drop the top. :tu
