No offence, but have you ever actually driven an s2000? If so was it an ap1? I don’t know about the ap2's I have never driven one, but if it was an ap1 it either had bald tires or cheap ones. I have B/F Goodrich g-force KD's and I can tell you this I have NO problem with wheel spin. As a matter of fact I can redline it do a clutch drop and the damn thing will almost clunk out.
My .02 every s2k I have ever seen with a comptech or vortech supercharger (that was running on the stock boost for that charger) has had almost no problems out of it. Turboing the s2k is a completely different story; I don’t think I have ever seen a turbo s2k run right for very long. This is my opinion on the matter not fact, but those particular superchargers don’t really start boosting until about 6000rpms, so it stays with the characteristics of the engine therefore putting less strain on the internals. Unlike turbos that can spool as quick as 3500 the 2.0 at least doesn’t even think about making power that low, so when you hit full boost that low it puts a major strain on the internals which causes extreme premature failure.
Bottom line: The supercharged 2000 is a VERY quick car easily dipping down into the high 12's, but if you take a car that stock for stock is quicker (like the 350z) and do the same mods then that car will still always be quicker. I like the finish of the s2k, I have worked on both and the 350z (other than the engine itself) while nice looking, is a piece of junk. If I were going the Nissan route I would have to go G35, the body and interior are much better made.
