Default Clicking cound from under valve cover. help.

I'm hearing a fast repetitive clicking sounds which appears to be coming from under the red valve cover at idle speeds. It is only noticable after the engine has warmed up. While reving the engine, it either goes away or is drowned out by the sound of the engine, but comes back again at idle.

Any ideas as to what it is? I dont think it can be normal.

2003 w/53K just got the car.

Thanks for any responces

The seller had the oil change service done the day b4 I picked the car up, BUT i did notice the oil icon light come on TWICE when I was doing some hard braking (TESTING THE BRAKES)
I found that very odd. I'll check the oil level.

Check the oil level for sure, but it's normal to hear some valve tap.

Some cars are louder than others...everyone is different. I've heard it a little bit in pretty much every honda I've been in...including GSR's. GSR's also have the notorious injector tick, which is mistaken for valve tap.

You could be low on oil, need a valve adjustment, or just be normal valve tap.

Seeing the oil light isn't the best thing in the world, if it's the light I'm thinking about...

Where was the oil change service done??

Update: The oil sticker on the windshield was old, I read it as 09/07 when it was 09/06. I poured just under 3.5 quarts in this morning. The sound is gone. The Seller hadn't driven the car in the last 6-7 months (as they said) thuis explaing the old sticker.

Oil was done at the local gas shop he said.

Just hope nothing went bad.

Damn you had to put in ~3.5 quarts? :noes:

Glad the sound it gone but IF I were you, i'd do a full tune up on the car. No telling when/what else they "replaced".
