whats the reason for the light coming on every 6k...so you bring it in and get it checked/spend money?

The maintenance light comes on periodically to do its job ... remind you that it's time for maintenance. If it's flickering and then going off, you've most likely got a bad electrical connection somewhere.

After 6,000 miles it will come one a blink a bit and then go off..... after 7,500 miles it will come on and stay on.

It's just a reminder based solely on the number of miles driven....
