S2K or Nissan Z
get the S2k...it's a better car. it's track ready right out of the box. especially if you're looking for handling, you won't find too many cars better than the S2K...a buddy of mine was in the same position about 6 months ago...he got a 350Z...after having it in the shop 5 times since then, he wishes he'd gotten the S2K...i didn't know Z's were having that many problems until he bought his. Go with the S2K...better car, it'll spank a Z on a road course, or a drag strip (even tho it's NOT a drag car) any day

when s2ki.com gets back up online check out the Street Encounters stories
Straight line with equal drivers, 350z is slightly faster than the s2, but the s2 is a bit ahead of the g35 from my experiences.
On the circuit the s2 is more capable. The 350z isn't bad, but I heard people say if you drive it at 10/10ths, it doesn't just feel right. You have to take it a step below, whereas the s2 is great even though the 00-01's are a little tailhappy while the 04s+ are more balanced probably because of the wider oem rear tires.

Simple
I drive an S2000, And my friend was looking into a Z, I had a comment for every bad thing he said about Honda 'The car has more power than the Honda' "Well, it weighs more, and has a bigger engine, to make a whopping 47 more horespower" yada yada yada.. The Nissan salesman, told me to "Shut the hell up". Pat Peck Nissan, Godda love 'em.

I used to want a 350z till i read up and did research on the car and u know what i found out about the car? It has Problems...Many many problems...either something is rattling or it was built wrong, on all the forums ive seen i havnt found One person with the car have not a single problem with it. The only 2 good things i like about it is the look and the speed, The S2k has less complaints about it, Weighs about 500 pounds less. Has less problems with it stock. Do ur reserch on both cars and ull know what ull want more
actually the problems should be fixed in the 05-06 models, and it didnt happen to all of the ones prior... as far the s2k vs the Z, i think its a driver's race on that one, ive seen Z's beat s2k's and visa versa however, with the s2k ur gonna have to pound the piss out of that engine to match the torque on the Z.. the Z has a steady power curve all the way thru and a lot more low end torque... so if ur the kind of driver that lives for racing and likes to floor it a lot then get the s2k... as far as looks go, jus sit in em and have someoen take a picture of u in and see wut u think looks best for u, kinda like trying on clothes =P they're both great looking cars imo, but give the Z a chance, its only been out a few years and it seems they're gettin things together now.

But, like 98CoupeV6 said, you need to go out and drive them both.

The S2000 is much more nimble in turns. The Z feels like a tank when turning sharply, but the torque is nice. However, I chose being able to take it to 9K instead. Also, I see lots of Zs on the road anymore. It is rare to see another S on the the road here.
