RX-8 vs. S2000
yea i doubt a GSR could take it. i only say that because i have alot of dreams of racing GSR's in my lude, and i always win...by alot.
and i also dreamt i raced that RX-8 and pulled on him by a noticeable amount (at least a car length).
but these are only dreams and they never really happened
ever.

there are two versions of the rx8 mazda recalled the first few but it was optional they did the same thing with the miata...they gave u the option to keep the car with its problem what ever it may be or they will trade you for a new revised one.
The recall was offered to all the preorder cars and supposedly the very first few dealer lot cars. You had two choices, either Mazda would buy back the car, or you get a free service package and a few hundred dollar free parts coupon. It was a good deal either way.
is that supposed to excuse the fact that they rushed an experimental and un-proven car/powertrain onto the market?
i went to mazda rev-it-up tour last year and i have to say that mazda as a whole has changed alot.
so
what im basically saying is that with all of this recall bs...i would not buy an rx8 or a miata.
the only car i was somewhat impressed with, was the new 6. it was peppy and somewhat comfortable...but even with the "package" that was on it...it was still a boat on the track compared to the lude.

and there is no way in hell that a stock s2k gets beat by a stock rx8 in the 1320

because there was nothing "experimental" or "unproven" about the RX-8. It was just a few horsepower overrated and Mazda more then made up for that.
i have a best motoring (I think) video which pits the s2k and the rx8 in a race course along with a few other cars.
s2k did quite well.
anyone want me to post it?
I'm not saying the RX8 is slow or not as worthy, but I think in stock trim, the s2k is a better car on the track.

meh i never really liked the rx8 its a nifty idea but i dont think it is living up to its "sports car name" i think mazda should have taken a more radical approach to the power band. possibly researched the rotary/wankel design a little bit more before releasing it. if it could live up its name like the 350z/g35 has to the past z cars ... i would have been much more impressed.
still give me a honda s2k before a rx8
