Grandpa says go for wheels and tires. NO warranty issues with that one. You can either stay with 16" or go to 17". I am on Motegi MR12s and love them in a 16x7. You might want to consider the OZ Superleggera in 17" as they are dope for light weight and race worthiness. Tires are up to your budget, but don't do less than the RE750. You are in Chicagoland and the weather is a major consideration when thinking about traction in the wet and winter.
Now to suspension-you can drop the car without voiding the overall warranty on the car. I know, mine is dropped and has been from early on-bought the car new. Just use parts that look stock and the dealer will not give you a hard time. Keep ALL of the stock pieces for now. Might I suggest that you consider Neuspeed Sport Springs and Koni yellow shocks (that is what I have and they do look good and work well both on the street and for HPDE. If you need a picture of my car-drop me an e-mail.

Good luck and remember that most mods to the engine and gearbox will cause you warranty grief at most dealers. Tht piece of paper is really important.

I'd go with rims and nice set of tires... that will make your car look good even w/o a body kit. Just my $0.02

I'd get performance mods a bit later... and to tell you the truth, the extended warranty places wont really give you too much grief on ur aftermarket parts unless they are SURE that is what caused the problem.

The things I've experienced w/warranty and lowering your car is CVboot damage, Axle wear, etc... other than that.. shouldn't be a pblm.

don't get me wrong, i love works, but they're not that light.

also, if you're serious about road racing you want to run 15's or 16's. sure, a big brake kit update is cool, but who here has actually spent the 2,000 bucks it costs to get one? not too many people. low profile tires are a) heavy and b)don't offer that much more sidewall rigidity to warrant having heavy 17's or 18's and heavy tires.

a good road racing wheel would be 15" CP35's or FN01R's.
