lowering compression will also lower power output, there is a simple formula for target HP and boost setting and what ur compression should be, as well as octane and a bunch of other things. i just have to find it again.

tuning and good fuel setup should allow you to run decent boost levels on a 9.0 - 9.5 CR

JE forged pistons are decently cheap compared to other brands, you can also go cheaper with Eagle rods versus Crower rods.

i recommend king bearings

right, I checked crower's site out, they also make pistons, but the lowest comp they offer for the 22 is 9.0, you could work with that, but 8.5 might be better, I guess it all depends on how much boost you plan/want to run.
my mistake from earlier, crower doesn't actually make the pistons, they sell JE and 2 other brands through their site, I'm not sure what the affiliation is. Like ludeboom mentioned, JEs are pretty good for their cost.

hey, im curious about your experience with king bearings. they pretty good? especially for 100 shipped huh? after reading up, i like how they sound. i have a na b18a1 with fairly high compression (11:1 ish) in a crx and need new bearings. watcha think? and what about acl's? any real difference?

cant speak for acls, but as far as bearings go, im my mind it would either be KING or HONDA OEM. bearing failure is usually only a problem on a motor that has oiling issues, like a failing oil pump or poor maintenance.
