Default Beware this Ebayer

- topgtspeed -
I contacted them after losing an auction on a set of one-pieces about getting another set. They said I could get a set for the same price as the auction I lost ($350 shipped), this included the harnesses, bulbs, and sockets. I was told shipping would be 4-5 days and I would get my "used, very good condition" lights. 12 days later I got the most non-matching headlights ever. One was in very good condition. The other looked like the ugly twin that didn't get all the genes. Yellow, peeling, and missing the harness for the corner light, I was very dissappointed. So now for the past 3 weeks I've been trying to get them to fix this problem to no avail. They keep trying to talk around it, asking for pictures over and over again.
Sorry to be so long but I am pissed, and want to help others from making the same mistake.
Any suggestions on what to do or if anyone knows this company?

You can go to Ebay and put in a complaint. They use a 3rd party moderator there that is free. But you can't wait too long to do it.

no he can't. he bought it outside of the ebay buyer/seller agreement, which ebay frowns on and will not support in any way.

good luck...you're probably on your own here. if you paid w/paypal you can try taking it up with them, or with your credit card company...private sales are tough though.

Sorry to hear, that's such a burn.I'm still leary about ordering off E-bay,not that it's their fault or anything it just leaves an uneasy feeling in my gut.

ebay has it's shady side...but i've had an excellent track record. of the 40 or 50 transactions i've had, only one has turned out sour, and it was for a couple cheap records...total loss maybe $15 or so. no big deal.

if i went and bought 40 or 50 cars from private owners, i'd be lucky to get 95% satisfaction with those cars. sure i'd get the car each time, but it might not be what i expected at all.

private sales are cheaper, but that's the risk you take.

nthn special, since ebay can't help you, and if you REALLY want a fair deal, which I'm sure you deserve, just let the guy who sold you the lights know that if he doesn't help solve your problem, you're perfectly fine with letting his current bidders know what kind of lights they're getting into if they are bidding on the same product. I know it's sleazy, and wrong, but ultimately it's a dog eat dog world, and, well, a dog's gotta eat. I'm sure he'll come around if he doesn't want you screwing with his business. Of course, I think ebay has a rule about mailing bidders when you're not the seller, but they're not the justice dept, they won't press charges. Good luck.

one more thing, did you purchase the one-pieces in black or clear housing? If black, then which one do you need? My JDM parts hunt in South Africa didn't go too well, I came back with one half of a set of JDM 1-piecers, it's the driver's side (Front left) headlight, looks almost new, and it's the black housing one.
