hmm, that would be the Front Strut Tower bar, if it goes under the hood. the sway bar is underneath the car. Anyway i can see a FST bar costing 150 bucks, but you don't need one. In an FF car with no other suspension mods, you really don't want to stiffen the front of the car. Eventually you will, after or at the same time as stiffening the rear, but it's not really worth it if that's all you're gonna get. the bar you REALLY want is a rear sway bar.

headers are just bent/welded pipes, but not all headers are the same. The reason being that a difference of just 1/4" can mean 5 to 6 hp, if not more. Mugen has the most extensive R and D department when it comes to the honda aftermarket, which is why they charge so damn much.

If you look around for the SMSP header for the H22, you'll find that it is the best performing header out there, adding something like 10whp, whereas the DC only puts 2-3 extra hp to the wheels.

anyway this isn't a flame by any means, just sharing what i've found in my aftermarket journeys.

hey monkey, where the hell can i find a mugen header for a 4th gen? I tried once upon a time to look for one, but every place I found on the web which showed it in their stock told me they no longer carried it, help me out buddy.

Also, I would imagine there's a slight difference in strut tower bars for the front. There is the kind that just braces the two towers, then there is the type that does that, but also has two mounts for the area above the firewall, I would imagine if you want the stiffest possible, you'd go with the latter.

H23 or H22?

I'm guessing that if you have a 4th Gen VTEC, you could probably make one fit. Though i'm not sure. i'd call king motorsports and see what they have to say.

http://kingmotorsports.com/

if you've got an H23, you might be able to get one to fit with a little modding/fabbing, but then again, with a 1000 dollar header i'm not sure if you'd be comfy doing that cuz i wouldn't.

i know the SMS header works for both 4th and 5th gen VTECS, and maybe for the H23 as well, with a little work.

i'm fairly sure mugen had an H23 header at some point but i'm pretty sure they're not producing any these days.

oh well, get your mugen swag while you can, before it become M-TEC god what an ugly name.

also, ideally it's nice to have a laterally rigid car in both front and back, but when it comes to FF cars, you definitely want a rear stiffness bias, just to counter some of the understeer tendencies of a FF car.

that's not to say you want a sloppy F and a stiff R, either. Some people have been stiffening the rear and taking out the stock sway in front, and though i hate understeer, having scrubby drive/steer tendencies in your drive wheels is also no good.

but that's just my personal opinion...

if its his car y not?

that's why i said "I would."

not "You should"

in fact the whole post is what *I* would do with the money.

he, and you, and everyone can do what they want with their money. I still have an opinion as to whether *I* think that's smart or not, but I am not in a position to keep you from spending your money, so, spend away.

Hey for my performance I was thinking about getting the Honda package #2 from modacar.com . It comes with DC ceramic header DC catback and DC intake all for like 880. Is it worth it?

perhaps, the overall deal would save you money, but I don't heard many good things about DC's cat back. That's what i HEAR anyway, I personally haven't heard one, or driven a prelude with one installed, so it's up to you. I once upon a time had a very loooong thread on here about my never-ending search for a cat-back, funny thing is, I'm still looking, I just don't have the case at the moment... where's your income coming from? I need a new job.

Wal-mart dude, wal-mart. They're like always hiring because they're trying to take over the world or something. But you get paid an extra dollar an hour on sundays and hella pay on holidays. But once you get hired its like they own you. But its still only just barely enought to get shit for my car and thats about it. BTW after a little speeding ticket I got last monday I found out my account was in the negatives... So now Im even poorer than random hobo on the street. But i just deposited a check from work so all is well.
