Default Overheating HELP!!!!

Please help my 90 lude is overheating. The fluid is right up and I am not even running the a/c. The problem started after I washed the engine. Is it the waterpump? Or could it be something else?

You washed your engine! Like sprayed the whole thing down? Or washed the parts you are aloud to get completely soaked?

Like washed the engine with the pressure washer. Like a quick spray at the car wash. Just to get some of the dirt off. Not like soaked everything.

I definately don't know everything, but everytime I say something about cleaning off my engine, I have 5 people telling me if I take a water hose to it, they'll kill me! So, I'd take it to a shop and tell them what you did, and see if they can figure out what happened.

I work in a detail shop we wash every motor off that comes in and never have any problems so I don't think it affected anything.

Well you said it strarted when you washed the engine. Don't forget if you had to drive the car to wherever you washed it, could have still been hot. I don't know. Just giving you ideas. So, check your oil and Coolant.

Both oil and coolant are fine. I don't really see what being hot would have done to it.

hot engine + cold water = rapid expansion of parts, possibly leading to cracked manifolds, heads, blocks, etc.

generally, very bad things.

LOL right I see. I guess next time I won't go to the car wash that has the ICE cold water. And next time I drive when the snow is melting I hope I don't crack my block LOL
