you got the years right for 4th and 5th gens.

There were only 2 models in the 5th gen. Base and SH. They both had the same engine. H22a4 VTEC, the diffrence was that the SH had better suspension and handling.

The 4th gen came in many flavors. S, Si and VTEC. I know that 94-96 had all 3 flavors... but 92 and 93... I think 92 didn't have VTEC.

3rd gen... I don't know much of anything about them.

Thanks Kaspin, that really helps. Good info. I'm fairly new to the Honda scene, this being my first Honda. I was a Ford man before, but now I've seen the light. Ford may make some muscel cars, but none of their cars approach the efficiency and hp/cu that the Hponda engines do. Also, the quality of the entire Prelude package is far superior to any Ford I've ever seen.

Welcome to the Honda family, 2000Prelude, and thanks for the historical sumary, Kaspin. I think that should be helpful to everyone, because I admit, I don't know much about the Prelude pre-4th gen., either. You look at the numbers for the early years and you think about how well these cars performed for the day, compared to what was available at the time, with less than 120 or even less than 100 hp.
